India Clinches Bronze In 35km Race Walk Mixed Team Event

Indian athletes Manju Rani and Baboo Ram secured a bronze medal in the 35km Race Walk Mixed Team event at the 19th Asian Games, helping India reach a total of 70 medals and matching its highest-ever medal count in the competition. Baboo Ram completed the race in 2 hours and 42 minutes, while Manju Rani crossed the finish line in 3 hours and 9 minutes. Together, they achieved a combined timing of 5 hours, 51 minutes, and 14 seconds. This placed India in third position, with China emerging as the winners, finishing 34 minutes and 33 seconds ahead of the Indian team. Japan secured the silver medal. In the 35km Race Walk Mixed Team event, teams can consist of either one male and one female participant or two male and two female participants. The best two timings from each team are considered for medal calculations. China claimed the gold medal with a time of 5 hours and 16 minutes, setting a new Asian Games record, while Japan earned silver. This bronze medal brings India’s total medal count at the Asian Games to 70, equalling its previous best performance in the 2018 edition held in Indonesia.
