India Advances To Compound Mixed Team Archery Final

India secured a place in the final of the Compound Mixed Team archery competition at the 19th Asian Games by defeating Kazakhstan in the semifinals. In a closely contested semifinal match, the Indian team consisting of Jyothi Surekha Vennam and Ojas Deotale triumphed over the Kazakhstan pair of Adel Zhexenbinova and Andrey Tyutyun with a score of 159-154. The Compound Mixed Team archery event involves male and female archers taking turns to shoot two arrows at the target in each round. The team with the highest points after four rounds, totaling 16 arrows per team, wins. After trailing by one point in the first round, the Indian duo came back strong in the following rounds, scoring perfectly in the second round to take the lead. They maintained their lead throughout the match, ultimately winning the semifinal 159-154. In the final, India will face the Republic of Korea, who defeated Chinese Taipei 158-153 in the second semifinal.
