India Adds Sai Sudharsan, Jitesh Sharma, Harshit Rana For First Two T20Is Vs Zimbabwe

Left-handed batter Sai Sudharsan, wicketkeeper-batter Jitesh Sharma, and fast bowler Harshit Rana have been chosen to join India’s squad as replacements for Sanju Samson, Shivam Dube, and Yashasvi Jaiswal for the first two T20Is against Zimbabwe.

The upcoming five-match series is set to take place from July 6 to 14 at the Harare Sports Club. The Indian team, led by interim coach VVS Laxman, departed for Zimbabwe late on Monday.

The Men’s Selection Committee has announced Sai Sudharsan, Jitesh Sharma, and Harshit Rana as replacements for Sanju Samson, Shivam Dube, and Yashasvi Jaiswal for the initial two T20Is against Zimbabwe, stated the BCCI.

Samson, Dube, and Jaiswal, originally slated to join the Zimbabwe-bound squad, are currently with the ICC T20 World Cup-winning team, stranded in Barbados due to Hurricane Beryl. The BCCI further informed that these players will return to India along with the rest of the T20 World Cup squad before heading to Harare.

Initially scheduled to join the Zimbabwe-bound squad for the upcoming five-match T20I series starting on Saturday, July 6, the trio will first travel back to India with the ICC T20 World Cup-winning Indian squad before proceeding to Harare, the statement added.

The victorious Indian cricket team from the T20 World Cup is expected to fly home from Barbados on Tuesday evening (local time) and arrive in Delhi on Wednesday evening (IST).
