The Crime Branch of Delhi Police has claimed to have dismantled an inter-state drug syndicate, leading to the arrest of eight individuals in multiple raids across five states. According to the Crime Branch, the accused were found in possession of more than 800 grams of heroin, valued at over Rs 1 crore. Special Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ravindra Singh Yadav revealed that the first operation was initiated based on specific information about Gulab Rai, a resident of Sultanpuri, involved in heroin trafficking in Delhi. A police team laid a trap near Sector 29, Rohini, and apprehended Rai with 100 grams of heroin. In the second operation, a tip-off led to the arrest of Akash and his associate Neeraj, residents of Burari, who were apprehended near ISBT, Anand Vihar, with 200 grams of heroin. They had procured the contraband from Omendra, a resident of Bareilly. A raid in Bareilly led to the arrest of Omendra and the recovery of 200 grams of heroin from his possession. Omendra revealed that he had obtained the contraband from Rajja Hussain, another Bareilly resident who is currently evading arrest. In the third operation, Parminder, a notorious drug peddler from Rohini, and his associate Rakesh were arrested, with 299 grams and 150 grams of heroin seized from their possession, respectively. Through technical surveillance and manual information, Daya Shankar and Suraj, who supplied the narcotics, were apprehended in Amritsar after a chase spanning Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, and Punjab, as stated by the Special CP.
