The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has imposed a hefty fine of Rs 50,000 on the construction company Casa Grand for unlawfully placing a flex advertisement by the roadside. Casa Grand, located in Talaghattapur, Rajarajeshwari Nagar, had affixed a promotional flex banner concerning its commercial complex. Despite prior instructions from BBMP officials, including Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) Purnima and Ward Marshal Motihal Chauhan, as directed by RR Nagar Zone Superintending Engineer Nandisha JR and Zonal Commissioner, the organization disregarded the regulations and went ahead with the flex placement. This incident follows a similar action taken by BBMP East Zone officials who imposed a Rs 50,000 fine on the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) for a flex-related violation. KPCC president DK Shivakumar promptly settled the fine using party funds. The BBMP continues to stress the importance of adhering to the city’s regulations regarding flex and banner displays, emphasizing the need for responsible advertising practices that maintain the cleanliness and aesthetics of public spaces. BBMP authorities are urging all businesses and organizations to seek proper permissions and adhere to the guidelines before displaying any promotional materials in public areas to avoid penalties. This fine serves as a reminder that the city is committed to preserving its environment and aesthetics while encouraging lawful advertisement practices.
