A forum of former MLAs and various organizations honored Superintendent of Police Mithun Kumar on Monday for ensuring harmony during the recent Ganapati festivals, processions, and Eid Milad events in the district. It was stated that no incidents occurred during the festivals due to the measures taken by the police.
District Former Legislators’ Forum President mentioned that, in the past, festivals in the district faced issues due to a lack of harmony. However, this time, the situation remained peaceful. The preventive actions taken by the police chief were credited for this outcome.
Since Mithun Kumar’s appointment as the District Superintendent of Police in Shimoga, peace has been maintained, and law and order have been upheld. His leadership has been appreciated, and it was expressed that such officers should be promoted to higher positions within the department.
Several local leaders and members of organizations were present at the event, recognizing the police’s role in maintaining order during these important celebrations.
