Panchayat developments officers, staff stage indefnite protest

The Panchayat Development Officers (PDO) of District and staff of Village Panchayats staged an indefinite protest in front of the Zilla Panchayat office in the city demanding the fulfillment of various fair demands of the Gram Panchayat officers and staff.

The Village Panchayats and local bodies provide 70 percent of the services to the people The Village Panchayat President, Vice President,  members and PDO working in this system have been requesting the government   for many years to solve the various problems faced in the functioning and to make appropriate arrangements, but no request has been answered, only the attitude of the government and the department is making the panchayat development works and the staff directly responsible for all the problems.

District President of PDO Association Sampa Raj said that it has been decided to protest for an indefinite period. MGNREGA Lokayukta case of 2007-2008 to 2011-2012 which has already been withdrawn should be permanently closed and information should be given to Lokayukta.

In case of upgradation of village panchayats to urban local bodies the government employees there should be merged in public interest.

 He demanded that the Grievances Authority should be strengthened on the model of the police department and an expert committee should be appointed and a uniform administrative system should be implemented and service matters should be covered on time and a uniform support system should be implemented for all the software.

 District Honorary President of PDO Association Mahesh Kumar, PDO Suresh Babu, Deepa, Ramesh Naik, Suresh Kumar, CR Gowda, Ramakrishnappa, Venu, Revanna and other PDOs were present.
