Pakistan javelin throw star Arshad Nadeem is prepared for the Commonwealth Games despite facing difficulties in training due to rain in Switzerland.
His coach Salman Butt confirmed that the defending champion has adjusted to the conditions in Glasgow and is ready for the qualifying round. Arshad reached the venue early to understand the surroundings before his event on July 30. The athlete’s preparation was affected by poor weather during a recent competition in Switzerland, where wet conditions made practice difficult. However, his coach believes Arshad has regained confidence and is focused on delivering a strong performance.
Pakistan’s hopes for a Commonwealth Games medal depend heavily on Arshad, who remains one of the country’s biggest sporting stars. His recent performance at the Lucerne Silver Meet was below expectations, as he finished ninth with a best throw of 78.47 metres. Arshad had earlier won gold at the 2022 Commonwealth Games after taking advantage of Indian champion Neeraj Chopra’s absence.
This time, Chopra will compete, creating excitement around their expected javelin battle. Coach Butt said Arshad is fully prepared and determined to perform well. The upcoming competition will test his ability to handle pressure and conditions as he aims to defend his Commonwealth title and bring glory to Pakistan.
