Several districts of south Bengal, including Kolkata, witnessed moderate rain with thunderstorms and lightning from Monday night, with cloudy skies continuing on Tuesday. The weather office said rain is likely to continue across West Bengal till Wednesday. An Orange Alert has been issued for seven districts, warning of heavy rain and strong winds up to 60 kmph. Kolkata and nearby areas are under Yellow Alert. Rain is expected to continue till Thursday, with temperatures likely to rise.
