Dialysis Technicians On Indefinite Strike Demanding Better Pay, Protest Likely To Affect Patients

Dialysis technicians across Karnataka are staging protests demanding salary hikes and other benefits from thestate goverment. Employees working in 202 dialysis centers across the state are taking part in the protest, Tv9 Karnataka reported. The protest is likely to affect thousands of patients who undergo dialysis on a regular basis.
The goverment reportedly reduced the salaries of dialysis technicians citing COVID-19 as the reason two years ago. Karnataka Health Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao denied to respond to the requests of dialysis technicians after they met him on three occasions. Around 1,000 dialysis technicians are working on a contract basis in dialysis centers in the state. The employees are on an indefinite protest which is likely to affect of thousands of patients in the state.
