118 Crores Without Doing Any Work In BBMP Plunder, Suspension Of 8 Engineers

118 crores in works undertaken in BBMP’s Rajarajeshwari Nagar sector. The state government has ordered the suspension of 8 engineers from service in connection with the illegality. Corporation’s TVCC Cell Chief Engineer Dodaiah (currently West Zone Chief Engineer), Assistant Executive Engineer K Satishkumar, Rajarajeshwarinagar Division In-Charge Executive Engineer NG Basavaraj, Rajarajeshwarinagar Sub Division Ward No. 129, 160 Assistant Engineer M Siddaramaiah, Yeshavantpur Division Assistant Engineer NG Umesh, TVCC Cell The Urban Development Department issued an order on Thursday suspending Assistant Executive Engineer Venkatalakshmi, Assistant EFxecutive Engineer Sritej (currently Executive Engineer), KRIDL Executive Engineer Srinivas. Assistant Executive Engineer JM Chandranath, who is accused in this case, has already retired. So, apart from him, the rest have been suspended.
There has been an irregularity in the grant allocated by the central and state governments for the year 2019-20 to carry out development works in Rajarajeshwari Nagar zone. MP DK Suresh had complained to the Lokayukta that fake bills were created and the contractors were paid through KRIDL even though the work was not carried out. Accordingly, he had investigated and found Rs 118 crores without carrying out the works. He had detected the looting and recommended the government to take action against the officials concerned.
Investigation revealed that out of 126 works undertaken in Rajarajeshwari Nagar zone, 114 works were illegal. 118 crores apparently in this case. Irregularities were found. 118 crores were looted by creating fake bills without carrying out the works and paying the bills to the contractors through KRIDL.
