Mangaluru Tahsildar T Ramesh Babu has directed officials to constitute POSH (Prevention of Sexual Harassment) committees in all workplaces, including schools, colleges, gram panchayats and health centres, to ensure a safe environment for women. Speaking at a review meeting of the Department of Women and Child Development, he assessed the progress of various welfare schemes and committees. Officials reported four domestic violence cases in Mangaluru Rural during the past three months, with three under counselling. Awareness campaigns against drug abuse continue through Anganwadi workers, mothers’ meetings and Stree Shakti groups.
