Dhanashree Verma denies privilege, credits talent for roles

In the latest episode of Rise and Fall, actress Dhanashree Verma shared her views on talent versus seniority privilege in the film industry. She emphasized that her journey has been built on skill rather than connections or influence.

In the fourth episode, she had a heated exchange with co-contestant Aahana Kumra. Dhanashree firmly stated, I don’t believe in privilege. I am here despite the world being against me, and I continue to get work. I receive film offers not because of circumstances, but because of my talent. Success has nothing to do with seniority, it comes from intent and effort.

Earlier, Dhanashree made headlines for indirectly addressing her past with ex-husband Yuzi Chahal while speaking about respect in relationships. She revealed that despite facing disrespect, she chose not to retaliate. In marriage, the respect of your partner is also your responsibility. Even though I could have responded, I didn’t. As his wife, I chose to respect him then, and I continue to respect that part of my life now, she said.

Rise and Fall showcases celebrities in contrasting roles, with some as rulers and others as workers. Alongside Dhanashree, the show features Arjun Bijlani, Kubbra Sait, Sangeeta Phogat, Anaya Bangar, Aarush Bhola, Akriti Negi, and Noorin Sha as workers, while Kiku Sharda, Aditya Narayan, Aahana Kumra, Bali, Nayandeep Rakshit, Arbaz Patel, and Pawan Singh join her on the throne. The show streams daily on Amazon MX Player at 12 PM and airs on Sony Entertainment Television at 10:30 PM.
