Karnataka State Farmer Association addressed the media stating their demands on sugarcane price fixing, stop powercuts and not to impose GST on food items.

KSFA said Bengaluru sugarcane growers are still experiencing problems of overcharging, fraud in weight, delay in payment of dues and owners of several sugar mills of North Karnataka are buying sugarcane at prices below the FRP fixed by the central government.

KSFA further said that previous governments had implemented a scheme provide free electricity to homes of the poor. But while this government is advertising that it will provide light to all houses it is cutting off the electricity connections and turning off the light of the poor people’s houses.

Central government has decide to charge GST and if this is implemented it would be big blow to farmers and consumers and the state government should be forced to drop this decision, KSFA said.

KSFA said that a program has been organized against the above governments anti farmer policies and a march will be started from Bangalore Railway Station on 11th July, 2022.
