New Delhi
A Delhi court has granted anticipatory bail to Rajeev Kumar in the AI Summit protest case after earlier interim protection from arrest. The order was passed by Additional Sessions Judge Amit Bansal of Patiala House Court after hearing arguments from Delhi Police and the defence counsel. The protest was held by Indian Youth Congress members at Bharat Mandapam during the AI Impact Summit on February 20. Kumar’s counsel said the allegations relate to recording the protest, and that he has cooperated with the investigation. The court directed Kumar to continue cooperating and ordered police to give seven days’ notice before any arrest. Earlier, bail was granted to other accused, including Udai Bhanu Chib. Interim relief was also given to Vikas Chikara, who was asked to join the investigation.
