Aditi to act as a female lead in Gautham’s movie

Director Shankar’s daughter Aditi Shankar is making her acting debut in Tamil cinema with the film ‘Viruman’ starring along with Karthi which is scheduled to release in theatres on August 31. Aditi Shankar has signed up for Gokul’s directorial ‘Corona Kumar’ with actor Simbu and the film is touted to be a dark comedy thriller.
Now, it is reportedly stated that Aditi Shankar will be collaborating for her next film with director Gautham Vasudev Menon. Media report suggests that Aditi will be casted as the female lead of the Malayalam remake film ‘Kappela’ which is reportedly directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon. The initial talks for the movie are underway and the cast for the movie is expected to be announced soon.
The Malayalam film ‘Kappela’ was released in theatres last March and later premiered on OTT. Directed by Mohammad Mustafa, the movie featured Anna Ben, Srinath Bhasi and Roshan Mathew in lead roles. The music for the movie was composed by Susin Shyam. The film was a successful hit and it is now currently being remade in Telugu. In Telugu, the film is directed by Celari Chandrasekhar Ramesh reportedly and it has Sidhu Jonnalakatta and Arjun Das in the lead roles.
The remake rights of ‘Kappela’ in other languages was bought in 2020 but later a member of the film direction team took to court to impose a ban on remake rights stating copyrights. But director Mohammad Mustafa submitted the relevant documents in the court and then the ban was lifted.
