Aishwarya Rai Bachchan calls herself the proverbial tortoise

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is busy making heads turn at the 75th Cannes Film Festival with her stunning red carpet appearances. The actress there spoke about missing from the silver screen for the past four years.
Talking to a news portal, Aishwarya called her a ‘proverbial tortoise’ as she explained why she has not had any releases in the past few years. According to her, owing to the pandemic, the last two years were a natural pause that everybody took. The actress stated that she is someone who keeps it real and knows her priorities.
Elaborating further, Aishwarya added that she has never been concerned about not having back-to-back releases or what kind of perception that might attract. The actress added that she is glad that she focused on reality and not on why she hasn’t done any film in two years.
Meanwhile, on the work front, she will next be seen in Mani Ratnam’s upcoming film, ‘Ponniyin Selvan’. The actress will be seen playing a double role in the movie. The story revolves around the prince Arulmozhi Varman who later becomes the Raja Raja Chozhan of the Chola Dynasty. The movie is adapted from the novel titled ‘Ponniyin Selvan’ written by Kalki.
The film also stars Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Trisha, Prakash Raj, Jayaram, and Parthiban in key roles. The music for the movie is composed by AR Rahman.
