‘STIMULI 2022’: National Level Inter-Collegiate Psychology Fest

The Department of Psychology, Kristu Jayanti College Autonomous, organized a two-day National Level Inter Collegiate Fest – ‘Stimuli 2022’ on

April 26, and 27, 2022. More than ten colleges from various universities across the country participated in the national psychology fest conducted here in the college city campus.

Smt. Hema Raghavendra Rao, Sr. DGM HR, Bharath Electronics Limited, was the chief guest who inaugurated the inter-collegiate psychology fest.

Delivering the presidential address, Rev. Fr Lijo P Thomas, Financial Administrator, Kristu Jayanti College Autonomous appreciated the department for conducting inter collegiate fest offline, in order to provide more practical exposure to participants and students.

Rev. Fr. Emmanuel P J, Director, Kristu Jayanti College of Law, Director, Office of International and Domestic Relations, Jayantian Extension Services & Jayantian Alumni Association, Faculty, Department of Psychology, on the occasion launched the Psychology department magazine 'Pravaha' by handing the first copy to the Chief Guest Smt. Hema Raghavendra Rao.

Delivering the keynote address, Smt. Hema Raghavendra Rao, explained that

Resilience is more about finding ourselves and that the festival reflected on this aspect.

Manodarshan 2022: Manodarshan, the flagship psychology exhibition was also inaugurated by Smt Hema Rao on the occasion. Manodarshan resplendent with stalls, brimming with innovative applications of theoretical psychology concepts.

The stalls at the exhibition were divided into memory tests, personality tests, biological corners, humanistic tests, workplace tests and others. Models about the levels of consciousness, Maslow' s hierarchy of needs, types of play to working models about observation, memory, child birth and others were also displayed in the exhibition.

The main attraction of the event was six students dressed up as Ivan Pavlov,

Sigmund Freud, Anna Freud, Melanie Klein, Karen Horney and B.F. Skinner who introduced themselves and helped the dignitaries move along the stalls.

The exhibition was filled with the enthusiastic energy of all budding psychologists. The inflow of the audience was consistent and large throughout the day. The experiments and activities for the audience kept them glued to the exhibition. Several interesting competitions like photography, short film making, personality contests, extempore, group dance were also scheduled for the participants and students.
