Released during Diwali, ‘Amaran’, starring Sivakarthikeyan as Major Mukund Varadarajan, has been a massive success with a pan-Indian release. Sivakarthikeyan has quickly become one of the few actors to achieve this milestone with a solo film, joining the ranks of industry giants like Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, and Vijay, but at a much faster pace. The film has been particularly successful in Tamil Nadu, grossing over Rs 130 crore, with a domestic collection around Rs 210 crore. Despite the release of ‘Kanguva’ starring Suriya, ‘Amaran’ continues to dominate the box office, even showing strong occupancy on its third Monday. As a result, the film’s OTT release has been delayed by a week.
