Dhanush and his legal team have issued a response to Nayanthara’s recent open letter, where she accused him of intentionally blocking the release of her documentary, ‘Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairytale’. In her letter, Nayanthara claimed that Dhanush’s team had stalled the film’s release due to a 3-second behind-the-scenes clip from ‘Naanum Rowdy Dhaan’ being used in the trailer without permission. She also criticized Dhanush for demanding Rs 10 crore as damages.
In response, Dhanush’s legal representatives have taken a strong stance, demanding that Nayanthara either remove the unauthorized clip or settle the matter financially. A statement from Dhanush’s lawyer, as reported by sources, reads, “We advise your client to remove the content infringing on our client’s copyright from the documentary within 24 hours. If this is not done, we will pursue legal action, including seeking damages of Rs 10 crore from both your client and Netflix India.”
The statement further rejected Nayanthara’s claims, insisting that Dhanush’s team had full knowledge of the documentary’s production, including the BTS footage. It also challenged her assertion that no one had been authorized to shoot the footage, labeling it as baseless and holding her responsible.
This isn’t the first time Dhanush and Nayanthara have worked together. They previously co-starred in ‘Yaaradi Nee Mohini’, a romantic comedy directed by Mithran Jawahar.
