Two family members were brutally murdered with a sharp weapon and then set on fire in Dongi village, Nalanda district, Bihar. The incident occurred late Sunday night.
The victims, Vijay Prasad and his wife Kanti Devi, were discovered by their son, Vipin Kumar, who arrived at their house to find it ransacked and a fire blazing in the bedroom. He raised an alarm, but by then, the couple had been severely burnt. Blood stains were found throughout the house, and traces of blood were seen draining from the house.
Local residents gathered to help and retrieved the charred bodies. Police from Chabilapur station reached the scene on Monday morning and began investigations. Station House Officer Murli Manohar Azad confirmed the bodies were sent for postmortem to determine the nature of injuries. Authorities are probing the case to uncover the motive.
