MYSURU
In a significant development, the residents of private layouts in Mysuru are set to receive much-needed relief as the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) has initiated the process of transferring these layouts to local municipal bodies. This move, which is expected to be completed within the next 10 days, will allow residents to access essential services, pay property taxes, and resolve long-standing issues related to land registration and infrastructure.
Previously, residents in MUDA-authorized private layouts faced numerous challenges, including delays in land registration, lack of proper infrastructure, and difficulty accessing basic amenities. Many residents were unable to get titles for their properties, which had led to complications in securing bank loans for construction, education, or other purposes.
However, with this transfer process underway, private layout residents will soon be able to approach their respective local municipal bodies for essential services such as water supply, road maintenance, and other civic amenities.
The first phase of the transfer will involve 200 private layouts, covering 15,085 plots. These plots had been facing issues related to land titles, which caused problems for both property buyers and builders. With the transfer to local authorities, it is expected that the sale and development of these plots will resume smoothly.
MUDA Commissioner Raghunandan confirmed that the transfer process is in its initial stages and will be completed in the coming days. He added that with this decision, residents of the affected layouts will no longer have to deal with bureaucratic delays in accessing basic services and infrastructure.
