Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on Friday praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for exemplifying the nation first approach, achieving significant developmental goals both domestically and globally. Speaking at the FICCI National Executive Meet in Ahmedabad, Patel highlighted India’s trajectory towards becoming the third-largest global economy, fueled by Modi’s leadership. He noted a recent IMF report projecting India’s growth rate at 7%, surpassing developed nations.
Patel emphasized Gujarat’s role as a growth engine, showcasing how strategic development and visionary leadership have transformed the state. He recalled the challenges Gujarat faced in 2001, especially after a devastating earthquake, and how it has evolved into a model of development under Modi’s leadership. The expansion of Gujarat’s road network and the transformation of its coastline into a hub for maritime trade were key achievements.
He pointed out Gujarat’s success in attracting foreign investments, with over 100 Fortune 500 companies now operating in the state. The Chief Minister also highlighted the remarkable growth in Gujarat’s manufacturing sector and power generation capacity.
Patel outlined future plans, including the establishment of semiconductor plants and the development of a large solar and wind hybrid energy park in Kutch, positioning Gujarat as a renewable energy leader. He expressed confidence that FICCI would play a crucial role in advancing Modi’s vision for a developed Gujarat and India by 2047.
