A delegation from the Indian Navy participated in EURONAVAL 2024, the world’s largest naval defense trade show, held in Paris from Nov 4 to 7. The visit marked an important step in enhancing Indo-French strategic relations.
The delegation, led by Vice Admiral Krishna Swaminathan, Vice Chief of Naval Staff, engaged with global defense manufacturers working on strategic projects under India’s ‘Make in India’ initiative. They discussed innovations in naval defense and maritime security, particularly technologies aimed at protecting naval forces and infrastructure from emerging threats such as drones and next-generation anti-ship missiles.
India was one of 104 countries invited to attend the event, which highlighted cutting-edge solutions to strengthen global naval capabilities. India’s Ambassador to France, Jawed Ashraf, also held discussions with Vice Admiral Swaminathan on national security and naval capability development.
The event reinforced the 70-year-long defense cooperation between India and France, which includes collaboration on critical naval assets such as submarines and shipbuilding. EURONAVAL 2024 emphasized international cooperation and technological advancements shaping the future of naval forces worldwide.
