Morocco international and Marseille midfielder Abdelaziz Barrada has passed away at the age of 35, the Royal Moroccan Football Federation confirmed on Thursday night.
Barrada earned 26 caps for Morocco during his career, including representing his country at the 2012 Olympic Games in London. He retired from professional football in 2021 after a career that saw him play in Spain, France, and the Middle East.

Barrada also had a stint with Spanish club Getafe from 2011 to 2013 and scored twice during his time at Marseille, where he played between 2014 and 2016.
Marseille paid tribute to him on social media, saying, ‘The club would like to extend its sincere condolences to his family and share in the grief of his loved ones.’
Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), where Barrada began his career, also expressed their sorrow: ‘PSG is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Abdelaziz Barrada, a product of our academy. The Club extends heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones during this difficult time.’
