Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar stated that there is no special significance to the meetings held by party leaders with Mallikarjuna Kharge, the party President. He spoke at his residence on Saturday after receiving a report from a fact-finding committee led by VR Sudarshan. When asked about rumors concerning a possible change in Chief Minister due to leaders visiting Delhi, he confirmed that there have been no discussions on the matter.
Shivakumar emphasized that it is normal for party leaders to meet with the AICC President, Mallikarjuna Kharge. When questioned about the visit of Venugopal to the state, he replied that he had not received any information. Regarding his own travel to Delhi, he mentioned that there was no need for him to go at this time.
He also responded to rumors of state Congress leaders meeting with Kharge, saying it is expected for party leaders to meet with their President. He noted that these meetings are similar to his interactions with the media.
Shivakumar explained that a fact-finding committee has been established to examine the party’s performance in the Lok Sabha elections. The committee has visited Hassan, Mandya, Mysore, and Kodagu districts and submitted its findings. The report will be studied, and regional reports will be incorporated before further discussions take place.
