Sujoy Ghosh teamed up with Amitabh Bachchan again for the 2019 mystery thriller Badla, following their collaboration in Teen (2016). This marked Ghosh’s eighth film and became his fourth success, earning Rs 140 crore globally on Rs 20 crore budget. Produced by Shah Rukh Khan, the film stars Amitabh Bachchan, Taapsee Pannu, and Amrita Singh.

In an interview with sources, Ghosh reflected on a memorable moment from the Badla set. He shared how Amitabh Bachchan, a major influence in his life, tirelessly rehearsed a scene for the 16th or 17th time. While the cast, including Taapsee, grew exhausted, with some even dozing off, Bachchan remained focused, insisting on continuing the rehearsals.

Ghosh also revealed how Badla came about, crediting Taapsee Pannu for bringing him the script. Initially, he declined to direct it, but later agreed after producers Akshay and Sunil made changes. However, Ghosh insisted on casting Amitabh Bachchan and rewriting the script to fit his vision, which led him to take on the project.

For those unfamiliar, Badla is a mystery thriller directed by Sujoy Ghosh, starring Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu in the lead roles.
