Huma Qureshi is thrilled about her upcoming police drama Bayaan, set to participate in Busan’s Asian Project Market. Directed by Bikas Ranjan Mishra, the film follows a female detective leading her first case in a small town in Rajasthan. She faces immense challenges due to the influence of her opponent within the system, while also trying to live up to her father’s legacy in law enforcement.
Mishra highlights how the film addresses patriarchy in rural areas and its impact on women. His goal is not to preach but to make the audience feel the weight of the oppressive system.
Huma, portraying a police officer for the first time, shared her excitement for the role. I am drawn to stories that resonate with me and allow me to experiment as an actor. When Bayaan came my way, I was captivated by the narrative and the passion of the filmmakers. It allowed me to explore what it truly means to be a protector of justice.
The film also stars Chandrachur Singh, Sachin Khedekar, Avijit Dutt, Shampa Mandal, Priti Shukla, Vibhor Mayank, and Aditi Kanchan Singh.
