Alia Bhatt is gearing up for the release of Jigra on October 11, directed by Vasan Bala. Along with playing the lead role, Alia has co-produced the film with Karan Johar, who initially launched her career. Reflecting on her 10-year journey in the industry, Alia expressed her excitement about partnering with Karan for this project.

Recently, an old interview clip of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan discussing Alia Bhatt resurfaced on social media. In it, Aishwarya noted that Alia is fortunate to have had Karan Johar’s support from the beginning. She explained that having such backing makes it easier, as it provides comfort and opens doors to better opportunities. Aishwarya added that while Alia receives many great chances, she has proven herself by consistently delivering strong performances. These comments were made during the promotion of Aishwarya’s 2018 film Fanney Khan.

Meanwhile, the trailer for Jigra, unveiled on September 26, shows Alia as a protective elder sister to Vedang Raina’s character. The trailer received widespread praise, including from director Sujoy Ghosh, who tweeted, Feels so good to exist in the times of Alia Bhatt. In addition, Alia has started filming Yash Raj Films’ spy drama Alpha, set for release in December 2025.
