Emphasizing Unity and the Constitution on Gandhi Jayanti: Min. Madhu Bangarappa

On Wednesday, at a Gandhi Jayanti program held at Ambedkar Bhavan, School Education and Literacy Department and District In-charge Minister Madhu Bangarappa spoke about the importance of preserving the freedom achieved through the efforts of many leaders, including Mahatma Gandhi. He urged everyone to develop this freedom with love and trust.
Bangarappa emphasized that the entire nation is like one family, united under the values of Gandhi and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. He encouraged citizens to understand and respect the Constitution, stating, “We should feel that we are all one.” To promote this unity, he announced that starting October 5, the Preamble of the Constitution will be read daily in all state schools. This initiative aims to instill respect for the Constitution among students.
Member of Parliament B.Y. Raghavendra highlighted Gandhi’s message of peace, urging everyone to adopt his principles, such as using indigenous materials and promoting self-reliance, along with the Swachh Bharat mission.
Other speakers included MLC Balkeesh Banu and MLA S.N. Channabasappa. Annappa Malamath, a lecturer at SP College, shared insights on Gandhi’s life. The event was attended by several officials, including Zilla Panchayat CEO N. Hemanth and District Superintendent of Police G.K. Mithun Kumar.
