The Chief Minister directed officials to hand over 110 acres of KIADB land to the Department of Information and Publicity. This decision was made during a meeting focused on developing a Film City in Immavu village, Mysuru district. After the land acquisition, tenders should be called as soon as possible to begin the construction process. A suggestion was made to invite tenders for the appointment of a transaction advisor to implement the Film City using a public-private partnership (PPP) model.

Additionally, the Chief Minister instructed officials to identify 50 acres for a second phase of expansion and to start the handover process. Once the acquisition is completed, the Public Works Department was directed to construct a compound for the land. The construction of the Film City should be completed within three years.

The importance of gathering opinions from people in the film industry was emphasized. The Film City should include all necessary facilities and be built on the model of Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad. Facilities using modern technology should be provided according to the cinema industry’s needs. In this regard, a study of the three major film cities in the country should be conducted.

Senior officials from various departments, including the Social Welfare Minister, the Tourism Minister, and the Revenue Minister, participated in the meeting to discuss these developments.
