Rohit, Yashasvi’s explosive batting dominates B’desh in 2nd Test

India remained dominant against Bangladesh on day four of the second Test in Kanpur, reaching 138/2 at Tea. Shubman Gill was batting on 37, while Rishabh Pant was on 4. Earlier, Bangladesh ended their first innings at 233, with Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, and Ravindra Jadeja taking the last four wickets.

India’s openers started quickly, with Yashasvi Jaiswal hitting three fours in the first over. Rohit Sharma then added two sixes in the second over, and Jaiswal contributed another four. India reached 50 runs in just three overs, marking the fastest fifty in Test cricket.

The partnership between Rohit and Jaiswal ended when Rohit was bowled for 23 runs off 11 balls. Jaiswal continued to bat aggressively, reaching his half-century in 31 balls, the fourth-fastest for an Indian in Test cricket. However, Jaiswal was dismissed for 72 runs off 51 balls, leaving India 138/2 at the interval.

Earlier, Bangladesh had struggled to build their innings, with Mominul Haque being the standout performer, scoring a century. Bumrah led India’s bowling attack, taking three wickets. India leads the two-match Test series 1-0, having won the first Test by 280 runs. After day four, India trails Bangladesh by 95 runs, and the match is set for a crucial final phase.
