Arjun Maini achieved his first-ever DTM pole position in an exciting qualifying session at the Red Bull Ring in Austria. Despite constant changes at the top of the timing charts, Maini secured the fastest lap with a time of 1:30.128 minutes on his final attempt. This marks the first time the Indian driver will start at the front of the grid for race 13 of this DTM season.

Maini shared that his radio wasn’t working, so he couldn’t confirm his result immediately. ‘I didn’t know the result at first because the screens were too far away. But the pole position feels incredible, and I’ll enjoy it for a few hours before the race,’ he said.

The qualifying session saw tricky conditions, with temperatures around 10 degrees and damp patches on the track. Drivers began on wet-weather tyres before switching to slicks. Lamborghini driver Paul briefly took the lead, but Maini posted the fastest time at the last moment.

DTM is a competitive series with 20 drivers from major manufacturers like Mercedes, Ferrari, Audi, and Lamborghini. After qualifying, Maini went on to finish third in the race, securing his second podium of the season. He expressed gratitude to his Mercedes AMG team and is eager to maintain his strong form moving forward.
