After a string of poor performances, East Bengal FC announced the departure of head coach Carles Cuadrat on Monday. The club has struggled in recent months, failing to secure a win in the 2024-2025 Indian Super League (ISL) season after three matches. They currently sit in 12th place, with no points on the board.

Through their official X handle, East Bengal FC confirmed that Cuadrat had resigned. The club acknowledged his contribution, particularly in leading them to the Kalinga Super Cup victory earlier this year. They also mentioned Cuadrat’s role in securing a runner-up finish in the 2023 Durand Cup.

East Bengal expressed gratitude for Cuadrat’s efforts and wished him well for the future. The club also announced that Bino George will serve as the interim head coach. Further announcements regarding the coaching staff are expected.

In their most recent ISL match, East Bengal suffered a 3-2 defeat against FC Goa, with Borja Herrera’s hattrick sealing Goa’s first win of the season. Despite the challenges this season, Cuadrat’s tenure will be remembered for breaking a 12-year trophy drought by winning the Kalinga Super Cup.
