Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja achieved a remarkable milestone on Monday, becoming the seventh Indian bowler to claim 300 wickets in Test cricket. Jadeja reached this feat on the fourth day of the second Test match against Bangladesh in Kanpur.
During Bangladesh’s first innings, Jadeja picked up one wicket, conceding 28 runs in his 9.2-over spell. He dismissed Khaled Ahmed for a four-ball duck in the 75th over. The 35-year-old is now the second fastest Indian bowler to reach 300 Test wickets, trailing only Ravichandran Ashwin. Jadeja took 17,428 balls to reach the landmark, while Ashwin achieved it in 15,636 deliveries.
Since his Test debut in 2012 against England, Jadeja has played 73 matches and taken 300 wickets at an economy rate of 2.47. Additionally, he has scored 3,122 runs in 106 Test innings, making him a valuable asset for India.
In the ongoing match, Bangladesh was bowled out for 233, with Mominul Haque scoring a determined century. Jasprit Bumrah was India’s top performer with the ball, taking 3/50. India leads the two-match Test series 1-0, having won the first Test by 280 runs.
