In an exciting final at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Dehradun, Mussoorie Thunders triumphed over Nainital SG Pipers by three wickets to win the inaugural Women’s Uttarakhand Premier League. Prema Raut was named Player of the Final for her outstanding performance with both bat and ball.

Chasing a target of 119, Mussoorie Thunders started with a setback, losing Shagun Chaudhary for just 1 run. However, Anjali Goswami and Nandini Kashyap stabilized the innings, taking the score to 28/1 at the end of the Powerplay. They continued to build a partnership of 57 runs, but Gunjan Bhandari’s double strike in a single over changed the game, dismissing Kashyap for 28 and Goswami for 25.

With the required run rate climbing, Prema Raut stepped up, hitting several key boundaries, including three sixes. Despite losing Reena Jindal for 10 runs, Mussoorie needed just 11 runs off the final two overs. Nainital’s hopes faded when Bhandari bowled three wides and an overthrow allowed extra runs.

As the tension built, Mussoorie found themselves two runs short in the last over. Though Sakshi Joshi was run out on the first ball, Ankita Dhami scored the winning run, securing the victory with Prema Raut finishing unbeaten on 32 runs.

Nainital SG Pipers managed only 118/8 after struggling with early wickets. Kanak Tapraniya top-scored with 29 runs. Nandini Kashyap of Mussoorie was the tournament’s leading run-scorer, while Gunjan Bhandari claimed the highest wicket tally. Kashyap received multiple awards, including Player of the Tournament.
