Pushpa Amarnath, Vice-Chairman of the Karnataka State Guarantee Implementation Authority, has instructed officials to engage with eligible beneficiaries of the Gruha Lakshmi scheme who have not yet received benefits. During a review meeting at the Zilla Panchayat, she noted that the district has achieved 92% of its target under the scheme, with 3,69,292 out of 4,03,333 women-head ration card holders benefiting so far. The remaining 8% will be reached through efforts by taluk guarantee implementation authorities and gram panchayat officials.

Amarnath highlighted several challenges, including 4,189 beneficiaries affected by account seeding issues, 5,296 by IT return problems, and 3,227 due to GST registration issues. Additionally, 1,083 beneficiaries have applied for individual verification with the commercial tax department, with 263 receiving No Objection Certificates.

She assured that the state government will address IT-related concerns with the Union government to prevent beneficiaries from being overlooked due to technical issues.

Regarding the Yuva Nidhi scheme, Amarnath reported that 4,023 beneficiaries have registered, with 3,328 unemployed individuals receiving financial assistance, which totals Rs 2,02,69,500 as of July. There are 416 applications still pending verification.

District Skill Development Officer Pradeep D’Souza shared that out of 23,211 graduates in 2023-24, 6,031 are pursuing higher education, 7,464 are employed, and 4,810 remain unemployed, some from outside the district or state.
