Union Minister Shobha Karandlaje has called for an NIA investigation into the recent Nagamangala incident. On Thursday, she stated that only an NIA probe would reveal the truth. The incident, where a sandal was thrown at a Ganapati procession and shops were allegedly set on fire, was described by Karandlaje as a disgrace to Hindus.
The Minister criticized the response of both the local Minister and the Home Minister, who downplayed the incident. She questioned what would be considered a serious incident if burning 25 Hindu shops is seen as minor.
Karandlaje accused Congress of using such incidents to divert attention from their failures and corruption issues. She claimed that similar events occur whenever Siddaramaiah comes to power and suggested that unrest might be used to cover up governmental problems.
