Tejashwi Yadav, leader of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), sharply criticized the Nitish Kumar government on Thursday for its inability to control rising crime rates in Bihar. Yadav, who is the Opposition leader in the Bihar Assembly, accused the administration of not only failing to prevent crime but also of fostering corruption within the police force. He claimed that police officers were more focused on extorting money under the guise of enforcing the liquor ban than on reducing crime.

Yadav also pointed out that despite numerous murder cases, no action was taken against the corrupt police officers, who were instead given extended postings in high-crime areas in exchange for bribes. The RJD’s social media post blamed several leaders, including PM Modi, for the deteriorating law and order in the state. Yadav is currently on his ‘Abhar Yatra’ to build support for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections, focusing on engaging with local party workers and addressing crime issues in his speeches.
