At a Jana Sampark meeting held at the Sawai Gandharva hall, District Minister Santosh Lad addressed over 113 public grievances from various departments. The meeting, lasting more than three hours, covered concerns from the Hubli-Dharwad Municipal Corporation (27 issues), revenue and survey departments (30), HESCOM (3), zilla panchayat (29), and other departments (25).
Minister Lad, with Deputy Commissioner Divya Prabhu, dedicated substantial time to listening to each complainant and instructed officials to address the issues within the set time frame.
Kavita Karki and 12 others, who took the PSI re-examination for 545 seats, requested a provisional list. They noted that the exam had been taken almost a year ago, and results were still pending. Minister Lad discussed the issue with home department officials over the phone, requested an additional 10 days for the students, and promised to raise the matter in the upcoming cabinet meeting in Kalaburgi.
After the meeting, Lad acknowledged the prevalence of illegal layouts in Hubballi-Dharwad. He noted that many grievances were related to these issues and could be resolved gradually. Over 50% of the 113 applications could be addressed within the stipulated time, while the rest would need more time.
Regarding ward committees, the Minister assured that the implementation process would be completed soon, despite some ongoing issues. Public attendees faced difficulties due to inadequate arrangements, leading to chaos. Police personnel struggled to maintain order, and some department officials attempted to dissuade complainants before they reached the Minister.
