Haveri
Around 27,486 bags (6,871 quintals) of chillies were brought to the International Chilli Market, marking a slight increase in arrivals. This was due to the market closure for Kanaka Jayanti, after which there was a rise in the supply.
A total of 3,996 lots of chillies were put up for tender on Thursday, but 579 lots were not tendered due to higher moisture content and quality issues. The highest prices were recorded for ‘Dubbi’ chillies at Rs 27,009 per 10 bags, Kaddi chillies at Rs 26,666 per 3 bags, and Guntur variety at Rs 16,659 per bag. The average prices also saw a slight rise, with Byadagi Dubbi selling for Rs 23,509, Byadagi Kaddi for Rs 22,209, and Guntur variety for Rs 12,959.
A total of 214 purchasing traders participated in the tender process, according to APMC sources.
