Candidates applying for engineering courses have faced technical problems on the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) website, affecting the admission process. This recurring issue, which KEA has yet to permanently resolve, has caused considerable distress among applicants and their families.

A parent reported that their daughter, eligible for an engineering seat through the Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET), encountered problems after making a payment. The parent had completed the bank challan process on August 31 and paid ₹1.1 lakh to KEA’s Bank of Baroda account on September 2 at 12:50 pm. However, the payment update on the KEA website was delayed by 25 hours, creating anxiety as the update is essential for generating the admission order needed to finalize the admission at the allocated college.

An engineering college principal noted that such issues are annual occurrences and remain unresolved each year. The principal indicated that out of 100 students, at least 10 face this problem annually, which, despite being eventually addressed, causes significant concern among students and parents.

KEA Executive Director H. Prasanna acknowledged the issue, explaining it was related to technical difficulties and had been resolved. The delay affected around 300 students who paid their fees through a specific bank. Prasanna assured that while some delay is typical, the problem has been addressed, and students who selected their top choice should not be worried.
