EAM S. Jaishankar hosts German MPs

External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar welcomed German MPs Jurgen Hardt and Ralph Brinkhaus to India on Wednesday. In a post on X, Jaishankar expressed appreciation for their ongoing support and discussed regional developments with them.

Earlier, on August 12, the German Embassy in India, in partnership with Fraunhofer, hosted a conference in New Delhi titled Sustainability: The Technology Imperative for Our Future: German Innovations in India. The event aimed to strengthen technological and sustainable innovation ties between India and Germany. It featured leaders from major German companies such as Mercedes-Benz, SAP, and Siemens Healthineers.

A key feature of the conference was the launch of a knowledge paper titled From India to the World: How India Can Transform into a Global Product Development and Innovation Hub. Co-authored by Anandi Iyer, Soumya Gopinathan, and Dr. Fabian Hecklau, the paper offers insights on how India can position itself as a global leader in product development and technology.

On August 13, German Ambassador Phillip Ackerman attended the Tarang Shakti joint military exercise in Silur, Tamil Nadu. This marked the first time German forces participated in exercises with India, alongside NATO partners like France, Spain, and the UK. Ambassador Ackerman praised the integration and airshow, highlighting the significant military cooperation for a secure Indo-Pacific region.
