The Tibet Policy Institute, part of the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA), on Wednesday hosted a talk by Former Ambassador Dilip Sinha in Dharamshala. The event featured a discussion of Sinha’s recent book, Imperial Games in Tibet, attended by Tibetan intellectuals, activists, members of the Tibetan parliament-in-exile, and CTA officials.

Sinha expressed gratitude to the CTA and the Tibetan community for inviting him to speak about his book, which explores Tibetan history and current issues in Tibet-China relations. He emphasized that the book aims to educate Indians about Tibet’s past and ongoing challenges.

Regarding India’s stance on Tibet, Sinha noted that India supports the Tibetan exile community and the CTA while acknowledging Tibet as an autonomous region of China. He stressed the importance of respecting Tibetan culture and identity.

Sinha explained that his motivation for writing the book stemmed from his interest in political science and history, particularly in understanding Tibet’s complex situation and its impact on India’s security.

Deputy Director of the Tibet Policy Institute, Tempa Gyaltsen Zamlha, highlighted the significance of the event, noting that Sinha’s book provides valuable insights into Tibet’s imperial politics and loss of independence. Zamlha emphasized that the book will enhance understanding of Tibet’s historical context and support the Tibetan cause.
