MLC CP Yogeshwar, a strong aspirant for the Channapatna constituency by-elections, announced plans to contest independently if he does not receive a BJP ticket. Speaking in Bangalore on Monday before departing for Delhi, Yogeshwar stated that he has already discussed his decision with like-minded individuals.

He said that if the BJP does not grant him the ticket for the Channapatna by-election, he will run as an independent candidate. He expressed confidence in winning as a non-partisan and joining the NDA. Yogeshwar emphasized that the Channapatna constituency should not be left to Congress and that it should be secured by the NDA.

He plans to meet with senior leaders in Delhi to discuss his candidacy. Yogeshwar also mentioned a planned return to Delhi on August 16 for further discussions. He clarified that he has not considered joining Congress and has not been approached by them. He suggested that any statements from DK Shivakumar are part of a political strategy and indicated that Shivakumar might attempt to create divisions between him and Kumaraswamy.

Yogeshwar noted that if Kumaraswamy does not agree with his plans, he will consider other options.
