On Sunday, a meeting of 12 BJP leaders in Belagavi was called surprising by KS Eshwarappa, former Deputy Chief Minister and leader of the Rashtrabhakta group. Speaking at a press conference on Monday, Eshwarappa noted that the leaders who met are party members who have contributed to its growth. He did not specify his personal grievances but mentioned he planned to go on a hike. He suggested that the central leaders should not underestimate the impact of just twelve people. He implied that a padayatra (foot march) would reveal broader party support.

Eshwarappa criticized the appointment of Vijayendra as party president during the Lok Sabha elections, which he said led to a reduction in BJP seats from 25 to 17. He expressed discontent with the shift from collective leadership in the party and accused Yediyurappa of favoritism towards his relatives. Eshwarappa also expressed concern that Hinduism has diminished in BJP under current leadership.

He condemned attacks on minorities in Bangladesh and called for United Nations intervention. Eshwarappa also criticized Salman Khurshid’s remarks about potential protests and genocide in India, demanding immediate arrest. Leaders of the Rashtra Bhakta Balaga attended the press conference.
