Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor has praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his speaking abilities and personal appeal but has confirmed that he will not enter politics.
Kapoor recalled meeting Modi in 2019 along with other film industry figures such as Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal, and Karan Johar. He noted that Modi had a strong personal presence during their meeting. The prime minister interacted individually with each member of the group, asking Kapoor about his father’s health, who was undergoing treatment for leukaemia at the time.
Kapoor stated that he prefers focusing on his acting career and directing films, rather than pursuing politics. He mentioned that he does not see himself as suited for a political role, citing a lack of necessary skills and an inclination towards creative work instead. Kapoor also admitted that his experience in film production, specifically with Jagga Jasoos, was not successful, reinforcing his decision to avoid roles outside his expertise.
