Vinay Rajkumar’s upcoming film Pepe has recently passed the Censor Board with an ‘A’ certificate. Directed by Srilesh S Nair, the film features Vinay in a rugged role set in a mountain environment. His character, named Pradeep, is central to the movie’s story.
Vinay Rajkumar’s earlier films, such as Siddhartha and Run Anthony, did not meet expectations. The film Gramayana, directed by Devanur Chandru, remained unreleased due to the producer’s death. Despite these setbacks, Vinay found success with Ananthu v/s Nusrat, directed by Sudhir Shanubhog, and later with Yuk Sarla Premkathe, directed by Simple Suni.
Pepe represents Vinay’s transition to a mass role, distinct from conventional formulas. The film includes a mix of story, entertainment, and unique sound design. Kajal Kunder stars as the heroine with a supporting cast including Mayur Patel, Yash Shetty, and Medini Kelamane. The film was shot in locations such as Bangalore, Mysore, Kodagu, and Sakaleshpur. Produced by Uday Shankar S and BM Sriram, Pepe is set to release soon across Karnataka.
