In a talent award program organized by H Anjaneya Charitable Trust, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah emphasized that talent transcends caste or community boundaries. He honored students who excelled in SSLC and PUC examinations, highlighting the importance of education in building self-esteem and fostering scientific thinking.
Siddaramaiah pointed out the historical inequalities in education, noting that Shudras, oppressed communities, scheduled castes, and even upper caste women were historically deprived of educational opportunities. He stressed the necessity of intellectual education as envisioned by Kuvempu, emphasizing its role in societal progress.
During the event, over 90 students from the Madiga community were recognized for achieving more than 90 percent marks, which Siddaramaiah applauded as a significant achievement. He also personally congratulated a meritorious PUC student who secured 98 percent and ranked 8th statewide, encouraging her to pursue a career in the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and promising his support.
Reflecting on his inspiration from Dr. Ambedkar’s principles, Siddaramaiah expressed his commitment to following Ambedkar’s vision for social justice and equality. The event was attended by several dignitaries including President of Sirigere Mutt Dr. Shivamurthy Shivacharya Swamiji, District In-charge Minister D. Sudhakar, Social Welfare Minister Satish Jarakiholi, MLAs Virendra Pappi, Raghumurthy, Basavanthappa, former Minister H. Anjaneya, and former MP Chandrappa.
