ABVP will stage a protest in front of the offices of all district ministers in the state on July 12 seeking uniform academic calendar for all universities, making bus pass issuable smooth, and early admission to government hostels. ABVP state secretary Sachin Kulageri told reporters that they have been urging the govt to run more buses, particularly during school and college opening/ closing time, as travelling in public transport buses is becoming risky for students.
Despite knowing that buses are running full after the implementation of the Shakti Scheme, the government has not bothered to increase the frequency of buses, he said, and added children from rural areas who come to cities/ towns for education are suffering a lot due to the delay in admission to hostels.
